How to Clean a Car Windshield Inside & Out

Cleaning interior windshield

Whether you’re driving to your local Camp Lejeune grocery store or taking a weekend vacation, it’s important that you keep your level of visibility crystal clear. That’s why cleaning your windshield is more important than just keeping your vehicle looking good. Learn how to clean a car windshield inside and out with the service department at Marine Chevrolet, so you can keep your windshield shining like new and drive with peace of mind wherever you go.

How to Clean a Car Windshield Step-by-Step Guide

While the actual process of cleaning your car windshield is relatively simple, you’ll want to be sure that you are thorough and clean both sides. You’ll also want to use the right cleaning materials so as not to damage the glass and so that you can be sure to eliminate any built-up debris and residue. To learn how to clean your car windshield inside and out, follow these steps:

  1. The first thing you’ll need to do is get the right tools for the job. Here are the tools you’ll need: safety glasses, gloves, glass cleaner, shop and microfiber towels, spray detailer, clay bar, and glass treatment.
  2. On the dashboard, place down a towel.
  3. You’ll want to be sure to select a glass cleaner specifically designed for automotive vehicles since they don’t contain ammonia, which can damage the tint of the windshield.
  4. Spray another towel with the glass cleaner, and wipe down your windshield vertically and then horizontally. Repeat this process on the other half of the windshield.
  5. Once you have cleaned the inside, go to the other side of the windshield, lift the windshield wipers out of the way, and clean the outside of the windshield, wiping with the same pattern used on the inside.
  6. Give the windshield a wipe over with a microfiber towel.
  7. For any tough spots or remaining residue on your windshield, use a spray detailer and a clay bar.
  8. After you have cleaned the windshield on both sides, you can spray glass treatment on a microfiber cloth and wipe both sides of the windshield.

Now that your windshield is clean, you can drive through Richlands with confidence.

Cleaning Car Windows

If you’re wondering how to clean the inside of car windows, then you can pretty much follow the same wiping process used on your windshield while using the same materials. Can you use Windex on car windows? As long as you use ammonia-free Windex, you won’t damage the tint on your windows or windshield.
